Best Buy'er BewareBest Buy and Microsoft are named in a lawsuit initiated by a California man who claims to have been duped into MSN service at the checkout counter. He was handed the computer and a "trial" CD for MSN, which isn't unexpected in the least, but what was unique is that the CD was scanned by the clerk. There's no valid reason to scan a trial CD because the point of a true trial edition is to shove as many out the door as possible. Keeping track of them for inventory purposes, as claimed by Best Buy is ludicrous. As you've probably guessed by now, zapping the CD with the little laser blaster initiated a monthly charge to the debit card used to purchase the computer. When confronted, neither company offered a satisfactory refund, hence the lawsuit.
