Google at work on desktop Linux Google looks like they are potentially entering the desktop world by putting some efforts in pulling togehter a operating system that would compete with Microsoft Windows. It would be Linux based and if coupled with the Google Pack, a collection of desktop applications, it could be a viable challenger. Would it be as easy to install and use as XP for a novice user? That remains to be seen.
