Farewell Earth, you look great! The MESSENGER spacecraft on it's way to Mercury, looked back at Earth as it did a flyby on Aug 2nd. It took hundreds of images and they have been streamed together into a movie. Click on the links at the bottom of the page to watch it - absolutely worth it. Sobering data - the craft was further away than the moon when it took the last photo in the series. Incredible clarity and really reinforces the 'big blue marble' analogy we use for our home planet.
